Wang Lake is located at the south bank of Yangtze River and in the eastern Yangxin County. It is formed by ponding of river valley outflows.
With a water level of 17 meters, the lake is 9.2 km in length and 4.6 km in width. The original area of the lake is 80.9 square kilometers, which has been reduced to 42.3 square kilometers due to enclose tideland for cultivation. The average depth of the lake is 3.7 m with a storage capacity of 157 million cubic meters.
The lake enjoys monsoon climate which shifts from mid-subtropical areas to northern subtropical region with an yearly average temperature of 15.9 ℃. As a major production base of fishes in Yangxin County, the lake boasts rich resources of fishes, reeds, water chestnut and wild ducks.(hubei.gov.cn by Mao Huifang)
