The 2018 World Chinese Finding “Roots” Festival was kicked off on June 9, the 26th day of the fourth lunar month, which is said to witness the birth of Emperor Yan, a legendary ancestor of the Chinese nation, in Suizhou of central China’s Hubei Province.

The festival has been held annually for nine consecutive years in Hubei’s Suizhou city since 2009. It has become a commonweal cultural festival brand and provides an important platform for cross-strait and even worldwide exchange among ethnic Chinese. (en.hubei.gov.cn)
