Construction began on the building in March 1930 and finished in September the next year. It’s one of the oldest buildings in the national key university.

The renovation included repairing stairs and windows, and installing a central air-conditioning system and smart power system. Ph.D. candidates have started moving into the 480 rooms in the building.
