Hubei's observatory issued an orange alert on July 25 for high temperatures.

Large areas in Hubei will see high temperatures ranging from 36 to 39 degrees Celsius at the weekends.

During the next two days, the maximum temperature in downtown Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province, will climb to 39 degrees Celsius, the observatory warned.

The observatory advised residents to guard against the hot weather, and workers who are exposed to high temperatures should take protective measures.

Some areas may see short-term rain, thunderstorm and gale, according to the observatory.

China has a four-tier color-coded weather warning system, with red representing the most severe weather, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
