Jiang Chaoliang meets with U.S. Ambassador to China Terry Branstad

On May 28, Jiang Chaoliang, Secretary of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee met with the delegation of the United States, which was headed by U.S. Ambassador to China Terry Branstad, in Wuhan, capital of central China’s Hubei Province.

The delegation came to Wuhan to attend the U.S. Independence Day Reception in Commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of the Establishment of China-U.S. Diplomatic Relations.

Jiang pointed out that Hubei Province contributes to building a good partnership with the United States and strengthening cooperation and exchange in the areas of economy and trade, science, education as well as culture.

The 40th anniversary commemoration and the establishment of a twinning relationship between Hubei Province and Ohio will create more favorable conditions for local cooperation, he added.

Mr.Branstad said that Hubei enjoys rich cultural and historical backgrounds. It is expected that exchanges and cooperation between Hubei and the U.S could be further deepened, so as to make positive contributions to enhancing the friendship between the two peoples.

He added that the U.S would participate in the 7th CISM Military World Games to be held in Wuhan in October, and wished the event a grand success.
