On April 29, Jiang Chaoliang, Secretary of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee met with the delegation of India, which was headed by India’s ambassador to China Vikram Misri, in Wuhan, capital city of central China’s Hubei Province.

The delegation came to Wuhan to attend the India - Wuhan Cultural Week, India-Hubei (Wuhan) business seminar, India-Wuhan tourism round-table conference and other related events.

Jiang pointed out that Hubei has rich cultural and historical backgrounds and is one of the birthplaces of modern Chinese industry. It is also an important province in the Yangtze River basin and enjoys time-honored friendly exchanges with India.

Hubei will carry out deeper exchanges and cooperation with India in the areas of cultural tourism, ecological governance, information technology, biomedicine, and museum construction in line with the principles of co-consulting, co-constructing and sharing, he added.

Noting the informal meeting between the leaders of India and China in Wuhan last year, Misri said that the people in India have been familiar with Hubei and Wuhan never before. It is expected that the exchanges and cooperation between Hubei and India could be further deepened, taking the cultural, business and tourism events held in Wuhan as an opportunity, so as to make positive contributions to enhancing the friendship between the two peoples.

More convenient measures will be issued for Chinese tourists and companies to tour around and invest in India, he declared. (hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
