Wuhan, Netherlands to develop special railway logistics service

Wuhan Asia-Europe Logistics Co., Ltd and five Dutch companies including the Port of Amsterdam signed a memorandum on April 11, planing to jointly develop the railway logistics service between Wuhan and Amsterdam.
 
The railway service is expected to serve the import and export between Wuhan and Netherlands as well as help boost the logistics, business and trade of two sides. The memorandum also indicated the common understanding on constructing a transshipment hub of ‘Belt and Road’ in Amsterdam.
 
In accordance with the memorandum, in 2019, the Amsterdam- Duisburg and Duisburg- Wuhan railway lines will be connected to develop the special railway line linking Wuhan and Amsterdam.
 
The person in charge of Wuhan New Port Construction Investment and Development Group introduced that the China-Europe Railway Express (Wuhan) will deepen the cooperation with enterprises and institutions as Deutsche Bahn, Kazakhstan Railways, Maersk Line and the Port of Amsterdam, etc, so that the both sides could reduce the operational costs and finally achieve win-win cooperation.
