During the three-day New Year’s Day holiday (December 30, 2018-January 1, 2019), Hubei Province received 7,773,200 tourists and achieved a total tourism income of 3.422 billion yuan, down 3.2 percent and 2.1 percent than the previous year, respectively.

The hot springs and skiing were very popular. The hot spring scenic spots in Xianning attracted about 80,000 tourists. And the four major ski resorts in Shennongjia Forestry District received 16,800 tourists during the New Year's Day, reaching a new high.

Rural tourism became a highlight, witnessing that rural leisure, historical culture and traditional customs were deeply integrated into tourism products, which greatly enhanced the glamour of rural scenic spots.

Wuhan, capital of central China’s Hubei Province, received 3,475,500 tourists and achieved a total tourism income of 1.178 billion yuan, declining by 20.53 percent and 19.81 percent, respectively, which were influenced by the freezing rain and snow. According to the "2019 New Year's Day Travel Report" released by Lvmama.com, Wuhan has become one of the top ten tourist destination cities in China.
