Jingchu culture starts tour to Italy, Czech, Hungary

Jingchu culture (Jingchu refers to Hubei Province which was the political, economic and cultural center of ancient Chu state.) will tour to Italy, Czech and Hungary from June 28 to July 7, said Hubei Provincial Department of Culture. Exhibitions on Hubei’s intangible heritages, children’s paintings and cultural images are scheduled to be held.

The exhibition on Hubei’s intangible heritages will present nine stories relating to the base of Silk Road, start of China-Russia Ancient Tea Road, legend of Phoenix Nirvana in the form of photos. 14 representatives of inheritors will show their skills in Chu-style lacquer wares, Qichun moxibustion therapy, Han Embroidery, dough figurine, shadow puppet, Wudang martial arts and Peking Opera on site, introducing Hubei folk art to European audiences.

During the 10-day event, Hubei will make joint efforts with Molise (Italy) and Gyor (Hungary) to display 240 children’s paintings. The photo exhibition in Milan, Italy will bring the locals more than 120 pictures on Hubei’s scenery, history, culture and modern art. (en.hubei.gov.cn)
