Thailand BOI promotes investment incentives and services in Wuhan

The delegation of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) visited Wuhan, capital city of central China’s Hubei Province, on April 24, to promote Thailand’s investment incentives and services as well as seek cooperation opportunities with local entrepreneurs.

It is introduced that technology-based innovative companies specializing in biotechnology, nanotechnology, digital technology, etc, could enjoy an exemption from corporate income tax up to 13 years in Thailand.

The Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) is a government agency chaired by Thai Prime Minister. Its mission is to attract foreign investment by providing information, services, and incentives to interested foreign investors. In 2017, China ranked as Thailand’s third largest source of foreign investment.

In recent years, Wuhan and Thailand have been strengthening bilateral investment, seeing a promising prospect for cooperation in automobile and high-tech industries. Now, there are 50 Thailand-funded enterprises in Wuhan with a total investment of 148 million U.S.dollars, making Thailand the third largest source of foreign investment of Wuhan in ASEAN. And Wuhan owns seven enterprises in Thailand with investment of 310 million U.S.dollars which relate to the high-tech sectors like Beidou navigation satellite system and fibre-optical communication.
