Hubei's Consumer Price Index (CPI) grew by 1.3 percent on a yearly basis in June, mainly on account of a rise in medical care, transportation, education, culture, entertainment and service prices, the province's statistics agency said Monday.

Medical service prices increased by 4.6 percent month on month in June, largely due to the medical reform carried out in Wuhan. The price of egg also increased by 1 percent compared with the previous month.

In June, the CPI of the country grew by 1.5 percent year on year. Non-food price remained the main reason for the rise. According to experts, "the CPI has increased by 1.4 percent from January to June, which is under the annual control objective of 3 percent."
