Wuhan, Houston establishes sister-city relationship to promote innovation

The uveiling ceremony of Hubei “Dream Incubator of Overseas Chinese (DIOC) cum Optical Valley Innovation Center in Houston” was held on September 10 at Houston Technology Center, America.

It also witnessed the establishment of sister-city relationship between Hubei’s capital city Wuhan and Houston.

As the first overseas DIOC under supervision of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, Hubei DIOC in Houston is jointly set up by several enterprises in Optical Valley. It aims to build an overseas incubator, offshore innovation center and a platform of intellectual property transfering with world-class innovative and industrial transformation competence as well as introduce the high-end overseas Chinese returning to startup and guide the innovative enterprises going global. Houston Technology Center, one of top 10 global incubators, is its first co-worker.

It was introduced that in addition to the DIOC in Houston, the Wuhan East Lake Hi-tech Development Zone has opened an innovation center in San Jose, the Silicon Valley of USA this April. Both the two can give access to America’s talents, products innovation results to Optical Valley and introduce back the local enterprises to America.

Wuhan East Lake Hi-tech Development Zone, also called Optics Valley of China, established an Optics Valley innovation center in San Jose in the Silicon Valley of USA on April 22, local time.>>more
