Three highlights of the Forum

The Forum on Global Production Capacity and Business Cooperation highlighted great influence, wide participation, efficiency and pragmatism, according to the press conference held on June 5 in Wuhan, capital of central China’s Hubei province.

After 5 months’ preparation and 240 one-to-one and face-to-face dialogues between companies, the signing ceremony on June 5 inked 28 major projects in the six provinces in central China, with a total contract volume of 7.933 billion U.S. dollars, among which Hubei accounts for 17 projects with a value of 6.835 billion U.S. dollars.

As introduced, this is the first time that National Development and Reform Commission and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of People’s Republic of China held an activity with local government in the field of global production capacity cooperation.

A total of more than 2000 domestic and foreign representatives, including over 400 guests from 72 countries and regions, 45 governors and ministers, 1524 representatives of enterprises, economic organizations, foreign institutions and media.

Besides the keynote forum, special session for central Europe, Asia, Hungary and Russia were set according to five sections, namely, infrastructure, energy mineral resource, mechanized equipment, network information and agriculture.

Yan Puliu, director of Foreign Affairs (Overseas Chinese Affairs) Office of Hubei Provincial People’s Government, introduced that the Forum had made at least two remarkable achievements in two aspects: first, the consensus that global production capacity and industrial cooperation is an important way to develop substantial economy, step up structural reform and optimize global industry chain was enhanced. Second, cooperation between China and relevant countries was expanded.


Forum on Global Production Capacity and Business Cooperation opens

The Forum is co-hosted by National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Hubei Provincial People’s Government with an aim to promote global production capacity cooperation in mainly five sectors, i.e., infrastructure, energy and mining, machinery and equipment, network information and agriculture and agri-products. >>more
