Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China has approved Central China Normal University (CCNU) and University of Wollongong (UOW) to launch a joint institute. Both schools will join hands in fields of computer science and communication engineering.

This is the second Sino-foreign cooperative educational institution for masters in Hubei, following the China-EU Institute for Clean and Renewable Energy at Huazhong University of Science & Technology (HUST).

As a world renowned university, the UOW represents the top level of information technology, computer science and engineering science in Australia. The joint institute will adopt the curriculum system and academic standard of UOW. In the meanwhile, high level cooperative study will be carried out based on characteristic and advantaged industries in Hubei and Wuhan.

As introduced, the institute will set single degree (the degree of UOW) and double degrees (the degrees of CCNU and UOW) for masters majoring in computer science and communication engineering.
