On November 23, the CCC Second Harbor Engineering Company (SHEC) which is based in Wuhan, capital city of central China’s Hubei Province, won the bid for China - Maldives Friendship Bridge.

The bridge is the first pilot project of China’s foreign aid reform in engineering and also known as the first project owning both foreign aid funds and national preferential loans.

As introduced, the China - Maldives Friendship Bridge is located at the North Male Atoll of Maldives, linking the Male Island, Hulhule Island and Hulhumale Island. With a total length of 2.1 kilometers, the main body of the bridge covers 760 meters with a 180-m main span.

After completion, locals and tourists could go to the Male International Airport on Hulhule Island by car or just on foot.
