Singapore delegation visits Hubei

A Singapore delegation composed of more than 30 entrepreneurs visited Hubei on April 20, 2015, local media reported.

The two sides carried out exchanges on further expanding cooperation areas, and deepening projects match-making.

Singapore is the one of the first overseas travel destinations of Hubei people. Especially, the launching of Wuhan-Singapore direct flights, the two sides witnessed increasing exchanges and closer economic and trade ties. In 2014, Hubei’s total imports and exports with Singapore rose 34.2 per cent.

Hubei side expressed that in recent years, Hubei and Singapore had been making important new progress in exchanges and cooperation. Hubei was actively driving the economic and social development goals set in Thirteenth Five-Year Plan. In the process of accelerating the establishment of fulcrum, Hubei more and more realized that their traditional advantages and emerging advantages were both promoting, and they could provide wide space and platform for enterprises to settle in, In particular, the implementation of some major national development strategies like the construction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and development of city clusters along middle reaches of Yangtze River, Hubei would have more opportunities and greater potential to be created into a new opening highland in China inland.

Singapore side said that Hubei saw an exciting changes in recent years, and would have a nice development in the future. There would be more enterprises to invest in Hubei’s finance, education, tourism and modern service industries.
