China’s largest indoor theme park starts construction in Caidian, Wuhan

Shimao Carnival Business Center Theme Park, the largest indoor theme park in China officially started building on Sept 10, in Caidian District of Wuhan, capital city of central China’s Hubei Province, according to the local media on Sept 11.

It is expected to open to the public in 2015.

This theme park occupies about 800 mu, and has a building area exceeding 500,000 square meters.

According to Wuhan’s climate feature (hot summer and bitter winter), it was planed to divided into five theme districts, as the Ice Age, Heaven Town, Warriors Forest, Rainbow Continent, and the DreamWorks, where the visitors can experience the Ice Carnival, Tropical Rainforest and Laser Feast, etc.

Shimao Carnival Business Center Theme Park, located at the lakeside of Houguanhu Lake, is the supporting project of Wuhan Shimao Carnival, which is developed by Hongkong Shimao Group, with an investment of 40 billion Yuan (about 0.7 billion U,S.dollars) and building area over 8 million square meters. The whole project includes a shopping mall, a home center, an international cinema, a lake-shore apartment, an ourdoor lake-shore business street and a theme park. (hubei.gov.cn)
